ABOUT MARK AND GRETCH

First, an answer to a most popular question - yes - Mark and Gretch are married! They met in June of 2004, quickly became fast friends and were married in April of 2007. They were both performing musicians, working on their music and recordings independent of one another. They had to see each other for the summer by attending one another's musical performances and soon thought it would be nice to do some music together.
During their second summer (2005) they started performing together as Saturday Night Record Club - a blend of their musical influences and talents, brought together to create a duet musical act. They played throughout the midwest the first year doing about 35 shows and performing a mix of pop, classic rock and new country. It was a growing time, learning how to best communicate their individual musical talents together. "Mark says, now it seems so natural to arrange and produce music together - our roles are more defined and we each do our part to build the songs for our performances and recordings." This was the beginning of MARK AND GRETCH. You see, everyone knew them by name and it became almost foolish to call themselves anything else!
Mark and Gretch have now crafted a truly unique musical performance and a one-of-a-kind audience experience. They have produced 8 CDs together and have become skilled at creating amazing interactive performance soundtracks. These tracks allow the duo to perform live vocals and instruments accompanied by the sound of an entire backup band. They faithfully recreate the sound of the original hit recordings. Their playlist has become one of the most versatile repertoires of anyone in this region. They joke and say that they play one of everything and if you don’t like a song - wait 3 minutes and they do something completely different!
More recently, starting in October of 2006, Mark and Gretch have been commisioned as resident musicians at Millies Restaurants and Shopping Village in Delevan, WI. They began by producing a show called Holiday Memories. Since that time they have produced 9 shows and 8 CDs for the Millies Shows. They have sold over 15,000 tickets for over 350 lightly scripted cabaret performances and thousands of CDs in the last 3 years!
And they are just getting warmed up!
